The ships Hollandia, Peace, Resolution, Zeelandia and Brederode are depicted. The list (in the middle below) contains a cartouche cartouche with a legendary description of the numbers and capitals of the vessels depicted and what happened with them.

Willem van de Velde the Younger (1633-1707) was a master Dutch Golden Age marine painter renowned for highly detailed, realistic seascapes and naval scenes. His work with his father captured pivotal moments in Anglo-Dutch maritime history.
