between 1750-1752, rode studied in paris, influenced by jean restout and carle vanloo. he then spent several years in italy, honing his skills by studying the works of old masters in rome and venice. upon returning to berlin via vienna, prague, and dresden in 1756, rode's artistic style was shaped by these diverse experiences.artistic career and notable works
