Harmanus Serin (? – ?)
Harmanus Serin (1677-1756) was a Dutch painter specializing in portraiture and Italianate landscapes. Known for his meticulous detail and book of artist biographies, 'Nieuw Schouburg', he captured the lives of prominent figures during the Golden Age.
Portrait of Diederik van Hemert (1729-53), lord of Bablioniebroek at the age of six. Standing at your feet, in a blue uniform, on a terrace next to his horse and dog, in the right hand a whip. On the balustrade lies his sting, in the foreground a bird. Left above the family weapon.
