Medal of Louis XII of France and Anne of Brittany (obverse and reverse)

This medal, which was the first to be cast in France, was made in Lyon in 1499, when the royal couple visited the city, as indicated by the lion beneath their busts and the inscription on the reverse: “The commune of Lyon rejoicing in the second reign of good Queen Anne, I was cast.”
