Zhang Anzhi,Yangzhou, Jiangsu province. In 1931 he graduated from the art department of National Central University. In 1946 he went to study in England. Since his return to China in 1950, he successively taught in Beijing Normal University, China Central Academy of Fine Arts. He combined realism and Chinese traditional painting techniques.He could compare differences between west and China in art history research as well. He trained a batch of painters and painting theorists in 60 years education. He published Zhang Zeduan’s Study on Along the River During the Qingming Festival, Guo Xi.
